FAX
Despite the ubiquity of e-mail, fax remains an important business tool.
When we noticed a trend amongst our customers to migrate their end users to VoIP yet leave a fax machine in the corner, we decided to do something about it! We have deployed fax servers on the Simwood network enabling the high performance receipt and transmission of faxes with no fax infrastructure for either the end user or you.
Any of our numbering (including ported numbers) to be configured to receive faxes. Faxes are received on the Simwood network and then relayed as configured for the specific number. This can be an email containing a PDF (no messy TIFs!) or can be our innovative fax-to-HTTP facility. With this we’ll post received faxes to your own web service. Some customers use this to create their own full-branded fax-to-email service, online archiving or other workflow operations. If your system is unavailable, ours will intelligently retry until the fax is successfully delivered to you.
We also enable full outbound faxing for both low and high volume applications. Customers can integrate with our API to send us documents in a range of formats (inc. PDF) and one or many numbers to send the fax to. Full status information is provided via the API giving you the behaviour of your own fax server without the hassle or expense. Faxes are charged at our A-Z termination rates (no per page rates!) plus a small surcharge per minute which varies according to the priority assigned to the fax job – giving both economy to bulk users, and performance to normal users. Faxes are always sent at the highest speed which we can negotiate to minimise charges and optimise your throughput.
